A motorcyclist was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after an accident that took place in Granby on Monday evening.
The accident, according to police, took place on Granville Road (Route 189) at Northwoods Drive around 5:50 p.m.
The motorcyclist, whose identity was not released, was taken to Hartford Hospital via Life Star helicopter, according to police.
The North Central Accident Reconstruction Team is on scene and is assisting with the investigation.
A detour is available from Silver Street to Northwoods; delays should be expected and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
