Motorcycle City’s owner, George Christensen, has been around motorcycles his whole life, on both coasts. Since 2007 he has run a busy shop in Canton, where motorbike enthusiasts from all over the Farmington Valley come to get the benefit of Christensen’s ‘West Coast Tech expertise with East Coast perfection.’
“We provide all the services you need for your bike,” says Christensen. “We do it all, from maintenance, custom engine or complete bike building and more.”
So, why would a busy small business
owner take time out during the holidays, to raise money for their local
volunteer fire department?
“I believe that the Canton
Volunteer Fire & EMS Department is the greatest thing on earth!” says
Christensen. “I mean, 365 days a year! They do it all, without a doubt.”
With the assistance of Rich Mills,
aka Motorcycle Santa, Motorcycle City held Santa
Claus on a Harley! over two weekends in December. While one weekend was
snowed out, the event still managed to raise nearly $150, with patrons
donating funds for photos with Santa Rich; a traveling Santa-celebrity in both
the Farmington Valley and West Hartford.
