Marijuana Distribution Investigation in Canton Results in Arrest

A Canton man was arrested on several charges, including the sale of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school or daycare.

Detectives from the Statewide Narcotics Task Force-North Central Field Office executed three separate felony arrest warrants at 4 Whirling Dun, Canton.

A six-month investigation by the Statewide Narcotics Task Force resulted in the arrest of a Canton man at 10 a.m. today — Wednesday, April 2.

According to Connecticut State Police, David K. Wyrick, 22, of 4 Whirling Dun, was arrested without incident at his home and charged with three identical charges on three separate arrest warrants:

  • Possession of over ½ ounce of marijuana
  • Sale of marijuana
  • Sale of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school and/or daycare

The investigation was initiated thanks to information obtained by the Canton Police Department. That info was forwarded to the Statewide Narcotics Task Force.

Wyrick was transported to Troop H Hartford Barracks for processing and is being held on three separate court-set bonds of $150,000, for a total of $450,000. He was unable to post his bonds and will be held awaiting his Thursday, April 3, arraignment at Hartford Superior Court.
