Detectives from the Statewide Narcotics Task Force-North Central Field Office executed three separate felony arrest warrants at 4 Whirling Dun, Canton.

A six-month investigation by the Statewide Narcotics Task Force resulted in the arrest of a Canton man at 10 a.m. today — Wednesday, April 2.

According to Connecticut State Police, David K. Wyrick, 22, of 4 Whirling Dun, was arrested without incident at his home and charged with three identical charges on three separate arrest warrants:

  • Possession of over ½ ounce of marijuana
  • Sale of marijuana
  • Sale of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school and/or daycare

The investigation was initiated thanks to information obtained by the Canton Police Department. That info was forwarded to the Statewide Narcotics Task Force.

Wyrick was transported to Troop H Hartford Barracks for processing and is being held on three separate court-set bonds of $150,000, for a total of $450,000. He was unable to post his bonds and will be held awaiting his Thursday, April 3, arraignment at Hartford Superior Court.

Anyone with information regarding any illegal narcotic activity in Connecticut may call the Statewide Narcotics Task Force at 1‐800‐842‐0200. All calls will remain confidential.

$450,000 for a drug bust regarding marijuana....what has this world come to. There are kids addicted to painkillers, selling hard drugs (Heroine, LSD, Crack, Meth, etc.) making death threats, producing bomb threats, and a 22 year old is held on $450,000 worth of bonds. I can simply understand the wrongdoing here, but this is a prime example of the government taking advantage of the power they contain. If you believe that Marijuana is a serious issue within the town, then you are simply in for a rude awakening. I am not an avid activist, nor am I an advocate for pot, but this government needs to wake up and set a focus on serious issues like grand-scheme growers and enormous inventories.

I would comment on this article, but Patch has violated my First Amendment Right to Free Speech multiple times and does not allow my voice to be experienced by the rest of the population-- effectively silencing me and making me as good as dead.
