Police made this recording of a phishing call made to the department's communications center.

Granby police provided this recording of a phishing scam phone call made on March 3.

As part of the scheme, Simsbury Bank customers are asked to provide their card numbers and expiration dates in order to reactive their accounts.

Police and bank officials are warning area residents to be cautious.

This reminds me of the text message I got before. It said that my bank account was locked due to suspicious activities and that I needed to call a different phone number to reinstate it. But I was suspicious so I looked it up and found a string of complaints at http://www.callercenter.com. Apparently, the phone number has been used to call people about locked bank accounts and was confirmed to be a scam.

I got same call and I bank with farmington savings. Dont think it maters what bank you have
