Emergency crews from the town's police Department and the town of Canton Volunteer fire and EMS Department responded to 21 Trailsend Drive Thursday afternoon for a reported pole fire.
Homeowner Beth Graves said her daughter Kasey lightly bumped into the pole with a lawnmower when it caught on fire. She went inside to get some water and upon returning found the pole on fire as well.
Volunteer firefighters responded and extinguished the fire while fire police closed the road.
The road is now re-opened and damage to the pole was minimal.
