Avon police confirmed Thursday afternoon that Michael Macbeth, 24, of Canton, died following a single-car accident in Avon overnight.

Macbeth was a 2007 graduate of Canton High School, friends said.

"He really was the most sincere kid you'd ever meet," said Jordan Ahlstrom. "He was loved by everyone. He's definitely going to be missed."

Friends said his interests included mountain biking, longboarding and soccer.

The single-car accident occurred at approximately 2 a.m., Avon police said.

An Avon resident reports it happened at the blind curve in front of 510 Huckleberry Hill Road.

Macbeth was transported to an area hospital, but "succumbed to fatal injuries" there, police said.

Police ask that anyone who has information pertaining to the motor vehicle crash contact Officer Christine Nietupski at (860) 409-4285 or Lt. Kelly Walsh, the department's public information officer, at (860) 409-4241 or via email at kwalsh@town.avon.ct.us

Michael was such a great kid. And so was my friend Debbie who was killed on that corner too. My thoughts are with the Macbeth family & all Mike's friends. R.I.P.

Michael was such a lovely young man, it is such a horrific loss. My sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with the Macbeth family.

It is a tragedy whenever a young life is lost, hoverer Francine the sad fact is if people would obey the speed limits on Huckleberry Hill Rd every thing and everyone would be just fine today! At 25 MPH it is difficult for anything to go wrong! I say this because I am a resident of this road, and honestly feel I and mine take our lives in our hands every day just trying to get in and out of our driveway!!! I am truly sorry for your loss.

Francine Sperre, do you think what was done on Brick Yard Road, by the trail would help to slow down traffic & save lives?
