Couple Who Lost Their Home in Freedom Drive Fire Thank Community for its Support

By Sue & Mark Crawford

Dear Friends & Neighbors:

We lost our house to a fire on Jan 2 at 4 Freedom Drive.  We have been grieving our losses and starting to buy the “things” that we take for granted in our lives.  Having lost everything, it feels like a monumental task to start over and some days we think we won’t have the energy to do it.

While we are saddened by all this, at the same time we have been comforted by so many. From the night of the fire, by the Town of Canton Fire, Police & Social Services and Red Cross who were there making sure we were taken care of. In the days and weeks that have followed, we have been overwhelmed and truly astonished by the generosity of our friends, co-workers (past & present), neighbors, and strangers (yes strangers!) who have reached out with either donations, services or a note that we are in someone’s thoughts and prayers.

We cannot forget to thank our local churches and the Canton Food Bank, as well.  We knew we lived in a great town, but had no idea what generous people surround us.

With gratitude
