Coffee With Cops Coming To McDonald's Thursday

Public invited to share concerns, ask questions, make comments.

The Canton Police Department will bring its Coffee With the Cops to McDonald’s of Canton Thursday morning.

“It will be a nice opportunity to bring the show on the road,” Police Chief Christopher Arciero said. “We’re hoping for a good turnout.”

The coffee with the cops takes place the first Thursday of the month at 8 a.m. and lasts about an hour. It started in January and offers a rotating pool of officers and others at the department to answer questions or listen to concerns. Arciero said the events have gone well and people have come forward with concerns, issues and general comments.

McDonald’s owner Alicia Canning said she heard about the effort at a Canton Chamber of Commerce meeting.

“I offered to have it at my restaurant,” she said. “I just wanted to open it up to the community."

In June, it will return to the Canton Police Station on River Road but will include baked goods by culinary students at Canton High School.
