Canton Police Provide Update on Accident That Involved School Bus

Father, son released from hospital, infraction issued.

A local father and young boy who were injured after their car crashed into a school bus on the morning of Sept. 20 were subsequentally released from the hospital, police said.

On that morning a pickup driven by Endrit Kurti 34, of Canton, crashed in to the bus on Route 44 at Secret Lake Road. Kurti became pinned and had to be extricated by Simsbury and Canton volunteer firefighters and was flown to a hospital via Life Star.

There was a 2-year-old boy in the truck who was taken by ambulance to the hospital, police said.

Both have been released from the hospital, according to police.

The 13 students and driver on the bus were all OK, with just a couple kids sustaining minor bumps and bruises, police said at the time.

The North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Team has yet to issue a final report but on Thursday police said the Canton Police issued Kurti an infraction for violation of a traffic control signal.
