Satan's Kingdom

The article on the proposed zoning change from residential to industria at Satan's Kingdom has a few very important errors.  This proposal is for property in New Hartford and is being heard by the New Hartford Planning and Zoning Commission in New Hartford.  There is no activity proposed for Canton's land use boards.    However, it is anticipated that a proposal will be made on adjoining property in Canton in the near future.
The article also states that the Farmington was designated as a Wild and Scenic River in 1944.  The fact is that the 14 mile segment from the Goodwin Dam in Barkhamsted downstream to the downstreamost shared border of Canton and New Hartford (upstream of Cherry Brook) was designated in 1994.  The 20th anniversary is being celebrated on June 22 at People's State Park.
