Canton High Graduate Passes Away at 40

A member of Canton High School’s class of 1991 has passed away.

Katherine “Kate” Houlihan Poole, who lived in Madison, New Jersey, died Saturday, June 8, at 40 years old, according to her obituary.

She was the daughter of the late Deborah Guest Houlihan and John G. Houlihan.

After graduating from Canton High School, Poole went on to attend Connecticut College, where she met her husband Gregory Poole and earned a Bacherlor of Arts in English in 1996.

The couple married in 2001 in Maine, according to the obituary, and went on to have two children, Ryan and Courtney.

Poole lived a life of love and joy, the obituary says, even during her illness.

“During her illness, she was surrounded by family and friends, and considered herself fortunate to have so much support.”
