It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Halloween in Collinsville

Town readies for 20th Annual Collinsville Halloween Parade.

You never know what will happen when three artists come together.

Decades ago Mark Mercier, Ken Carder and John Squier, aka Jon Art, aka Boosolini Collins, were at LaSalle Market and conceived the idea of a parade through the streets of Collinsville. Saturday will mark the 20th annual event.

"I never thought we'd be doing it this many years later," said Squier, who is president of the Collinsville Arts Initiative.

Numerous artists help plan and participate in the event, which includes a stroll through Collinsville.

Boosolini, who is "monster of ceremonies," officially kicks off the parade at 7 p.m. Oct 26 from Canton "Hysterical" Museum's front porch

The parade will then wind through the streets of Collinsville, through decorations, by the voodoo island drum circle and other elaborate setups and back to the museum area for costume contests and more.

There is also plenty of pre-parade fun.
