Poetry Reading and Performance

The Windsor Art Center is delighted to host a reading and performance by Edmond Chibeau, featured artist in its current exhibition, “Performance Scripts: The Babbletive and Scribbletive Arts” and poet Alexandrina Sergio.  Sergio is the author of two poetry collections, “My Daughter is Drummer in the Rock ’n Roll Band” and “That’s How The Light Gets In”, both published by Antrim House. Her poems have received national and state awards, most recently from the 2013 California-based Voices of Lincoln Contest, and have been given multiple performances by the East Haddam Stage Company.  Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in numerous journals, including Connecticut River Review, and in anthologies. Sergio believes “thoughtful, well-crafted poetry, like all art, communicates truths that unite us in humanity.”

Discussion following the performance will detail how poetry can be used to bridge gaps in cultures and bring people together through words. This event is sponsored by the Connecticut Humanities.  It is FREE and open to the general public.  For more information, please call 860-688-2528 or visit www.windsorartcenter.org.
