Open Days Program Garden Tour - Farmington Valley Region

Explore four private gardens in Canton Farmington, and New Hartford, open to
the public for self-guided tours to benefit the Garden Conservancy. No
reservations required; rain or shine. Admission is $5 per garden; children 12 & under free. Begin at Green Haven or see www.opendaysprogram.org for
additional locations.

Highlights include a naturalistic garden of grassy paths, free range chickens,
and extensive stone walls; a whimsical property with sculpture, a purple
greenhouse, and artfully named garden areas; a sunken garden originally
designed with help from landscape architect Fletcher Steele with fourteen ram's
head fountains, tufa walls, and a Hinoki cypress more than 100 years old; and a
hilltop location with multiple water features, container plantings, a bridge
over a dry stream bed, a Zen garden, organic vegetable garden, and fragrant
plant choices.
