Canton Artists’ Guild 53rd Anniversary Show at Gallery on the Green in Canton

The Canton Artist Guild at the Gallery on the Green is the longest continuously-running artist guild in the state.

Towns of interest:  Farmington Valley & neighboring towns which include Enfield, Simsbury, West Hartford, Avon, Canton, Granby, Burlington, Torrington, Bloomfield, Windsor, Farmington, New Hartford (and others between Hartford and Litchfield)


 


The Canton Artists’ Guild will be having its 53rd Anniversary Show from Friday, July 12th through Sunday, August 11th at Gallery on the Green.  The show will be in both the downstairs Founders Gallery and in the upstairs gallery.  An opening reception will be held on Saturday, July13th from 6 – 9 pm. The public is warmly invited to attend this gala event.


 


Also opening at the same time in the Spotlight Gallery is the work of Kelley Fryer in a show entitled “Occupy New Haven’s Last Stand(s)”  Branford photographer Kelley Fryer shot these images in early March through April. Through them Kelley documents the gritty business of day to day life, of the protesters, press, police and people on the Green just prior to eviction day. The work will be in both black & white and color.    Kelley is a freelance photographer covering the shoreline including Chester, Deep River, Essex, Old Saybrook, Clinton, Killingworth, Madison, Guilford, Branford, North Branford, East Haven, and North Haven for Shore Publishing and Élan and is a member artist of the Canton Artists’ Guild. 


 


The gallery is free and open Fridays through Sundays from 1pm to 5pm.  The downstairs gallery is handicapped accessible.
