Wind Will Continue in Canton Today but Should Slow a Little by This Evening

Temperatures to drop as well.

The National Weather Service is predicting a westerly wind will continue Thursday with sustained speeds of 20 to 26 miles per hour and gusts as high as 41. 

By tonight, however, the wind should slow down to speeds closer to 15 mph and gusts as high as 32 mph, according to the service. 

The temperature is also predicted to fall from about 48 degrees at 9 a.m. to 41 by 5 p.m.

Some wind could continue Friday. The service predicts a partly sunny day with a high temperature near 33 degrees and a northwest wind 13 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

As of 12:25 a.m., Connecticut Light and Power outage estimates included one Canton customer.
