ShopRite of Canton Donates $20,000 to Local Schools

Store teams with customers to raise funds; top customer wins $1,000 gift card and iPod

Results from the 2011-2012 ShopRite for Education program are in – through this program, the ShopRite of Canton has donated $20,000  in equipment to local schools.

As a special thank you to this year’s top fundraising customer, ShopRite of Canton has also awarded Grace Grinnell of Canton a $1,000 ShopRite gift card and a new IPOD! With her weekly purchases during the course of the 2011-2012 school year, Grace donated her ShopRite for Education funds to the Cherry Brook Primary School. Ms. Grinnell was presented with her prizes at a special ceremony at the ShopRite of Canton on Friday, July 13, 2012 – see photo attached.

The ShopRites of Canton and West Hartford are owned and operated by the Joseph family. The mission of their stores is to have a positive impact on customers, associates and their communities.

Each year, ShopRite for Education donates more than $200,000 in school equipment throughout Connecticut. Customers can help their local school earn their share of these much-needed educational tools just by using their registered Price Plus club card at any participating Connecticut ShopRite during the school year.  

The upcoming ShopRite for Education program will begin on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 and will run through Sunday, April 28, 2013. Please call 1-800-SHOPRITE for details.  

The ShopRite of Canton is located at 110 Albany Turnpike, Canton, CT 06019. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
