Sam Collins Day: Community Organizations

Numerous non-profits, town departments and others participating in event.

The 17th Annual Sam Collins Day is slated to take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept 17. (Rain Date Sept. 18)

Numerous activities are slated to take place at the field on Canton Springs Road (main site) and downtown Collinsville. A shuttle will go between sites.

Included will be a Business Expo, Taste of Canton, children's activities, live entertainment and more. A Lions Club breakfast will precede the event at the fire station on Canton Springs Road.

Canton Girl Scouts

A display of pictures depicting the various activities throughout the years. We will be selling home baked goods to help support the Canton Girl Scouts as we approach our 100th Birthday in 2012. Information on registration into Girl Scouts.

Canton Advocates for Responsible Expansion, Inc.

The Town of Canton is currently revising its "Master Plan," the Plan of Conservation and Development. C.A.R.E., a grassroots Smart Growth advocacy group, will explain the importance of the plan to Canton's future, and how it believes all Canton residents, property owners and business owners should take part in its creation.

Canton Republican Town Committee

Anyone interested in joining or learning more about the "accomplishments" and on-going initiatives of the CRTC is welcome to stop by the booth.

Canton Land Conservation Trust

Come and explore the beauty of Cantons’ almost 2000 acres of preserved land and trails! Find out more abou the various properties and trails and how you might participate in the Land Trust’s mission. Play land games and win prizes.

Live animal demonstrations (reptiles) throughout the day. Merchandise from our gift shop will be for sale.

Learn all about volunteering for the fire and EMS department

Community of Concern/Substance Abuse/Youth Services Bureau

Information about town organizations. Schedules of coming events.

Farmington Valley VNA

We will provide blood pressure screenings and offer multiple educational health pamphlets. Free giveaways will be passed out.

Canton Community Health Fund

Information about Canton Community Health Fund - a private foundation, promoting the health and well being of all Canton residents by distributing grants to non-profit organizations in Canton who work toward our objectives.

Focus on Canton

Informational booth on Outreach Programs and volunteer opportunities including Neighbors Helping Neighbors Day, The annual Thanksgiving Dinner, Holiday Outreach, Canton Walk for Hunger, etc, etc. Activities for children – come make a personal card to be given to Cherry Brook HealthCare Residents.

Canton Food Bank

Learn all about the food bank and how you can help, contribute and/or volunteer

Booth will emphasize Trinity’s outreach into the Canton community.
