Roaring Brook Nature Center Programs

Offerings at the Canton site for November.

The following are among the November offerings at Roaring Brook Nature Center. 

Walk for all ages

On Sunday afternoon, Nov. 11, Roaring Brook Nature Center will offer a 90 minute walk geared for all ages.  Find out how plants and animals prepare for the winter season on a leisurely walk through the trails of Werner’s Woods.  The walk begins at 1:30 PM and pre-registration is not required.  Cost of the walk is $6 for adults, half price for children.  Call the Center for additional information at 860-693-0263.

Gift and Craft Fair

The Friends of Roaring Brook Nature Center will hold their annual Gift and Craft Fair on Sunday, Nov. 18 from noon until 4 PM.  Start your holiday shopping with nature-related gifts for all ages, many made by artisans from the Farmington Valley. Crafts will include pottery, candles, jewelry, soaps, and felted bird ornaments. There is no charge to attend the Fair or to visit the Nature Center on this date. Adventure Story Time

Adventure Story Time for children ages 2-5 will be held this fall on the third Monday of each month from 1 to 2 p.m. Adults and children can participate in a shared story with a craft and short walk. Children must be accompanied by an adult.  There is a charge of $2/child with a maximum $5 per family.  November’s Fall Adventure Story Time will be held on Monday, Nov. 19. Pre-registration is requested. Call the Nature center at 860.693.0263 for additional information.
