Roaring Brook Nature Center Announces Holiday Programs, Hours

Canton facility offers plenty of winter fun.

Holiday hours

During the Holiday period, Roaring Brook Nature Center will be closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 25 and New Year’s Day, Jan. 1. The Center will be open on Mondays, Dec. 24 and Jan. 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. During the school year, regular Nature center hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. The Trails through Werner’s are open daily dawn until dusk.

December Vacation Week Programs

During the December school vacation week, Roaring Brook Nature Center will offer three-day vacation programs for students in grades K-5. The programs run from 9  a.m. until noon and will focus on how animals find food and shelter through the winter season. Tracking and winter survival will also be part of this program. Students may enroll for one, two or three days of programs. The cost per day is $30 for members, $35 for nonmembers. Students may sign up for all three days at a discounted rate of $85.00 for members, $105 for nonmembers. Additional information is available by calling the Nature Center at (860) 693-0263.
