Ed Bassett of Andover, Mass. competes in the downhill portion of the Connecticut Winter Games for Seniors at Ski Sundown Tuesday.
Bassett said his choice of clothing is simple.
"I am red, white and blue blooded," he said.
Bassett, 63, skied while he was younger and took up the sport again at age 50.
The event, co-sponsored by Sundown and Connecticut Ski Council, included downhill, giant slalom, and snowshoe events.
