America The Beautiful Country Store slated to open this week.

Area residents will soon have a local source for custom-made Amish furniture and more at a new a Collinsville business.

Over the past several days, Greg Wasoka and Kellee Abramczyk have been hard at work inside 100B Main St., Collinsville, preparing for the opening of America the Beautiful Country Store.

The shop will feature Amish-made furniture, linens, tinware, curtains, candle and home decor, nearly all of which is made in America, Wasoka said.

Wasoka said he has numerous direct connections with furniture makers he developed during year of helping his parents run American Vintage Furniture in Naugatuck.

This will be the first time he's run his own business.

"It's always been a dream of mine to have my own shop," he said.

Wasoka will carry several pieces of furniture at the shop but said pieces can be custom ordered. He said he will have catalogs and can work with customers who want to order variations of items in the store or numerous other pieces.

The furniture will vary in price but Wasoka feels people will find the prices very reasonable.

"We're super-competitively priced," he said.

Wasoka is still working out planned hours but is targeting this weekend for the store opening and Feb. 8 to 10 for a grand opening.
