MDC Path Should Open Next Week

Trail was closed because of hanging limbs.

A walking path over the Nepaug Dam from Torrington Avenue to Route 202 has been closed due to storm damage and should be open soon, according to a Metropolitan District Official.

"We’re looking to have it back open early next week,” said Jim Randazzo, manager of water supply for the MDC.

The MDC, "a nonprofit municipal corporation chartered by the Connecticut General Assembly in 1929," reported similar problems on other properties including the West Hartford Reservoir.

A tree crew began the Thursday (Dec. 8, 2011,) he said, and it should be deemed safe within a few days.
