Great to see Canton getting some nice, national recognition. Canton is developing into a very nice town, offering alot of opportunities to its residents. Its great to see the schools continue to improve, more recreational options and the continued development of Collinsville as a great place to live and as a destination.

One other thought - the town, the Chamber of Commerce, or the economic development commission (is that what they are called?) should really collect and publicize these recognitions. I realize they don't mean a whole lot, but if someone from out of the area is moving here and is choosing to buy a house or open a small business in the area, it would be helpful for them to know that Canton has been recognized as a great place to live and raise a family. There was that "cool" town designation a few years back, i know the school wins lots of awards and I remember some magazine articles about the town too. They should all be publicized on the town website under "why canton is a great place to move and open a business"

Great article! Thanks for the find! I save all of these recognitions - as a Real Estate Agent - when I have a new listing in Canton -- copies are made and put in the home for all to see how great a town we are!

Canton was a great town when my family moved there in 1957!! It's come a long way baby - some good - some not so good..( Lane Homestead and the Golf Course) ..it will always be 'where I grew up'!! And kudos to Collinsville for all that they are doing there. I am hoping that Windsor will consider Collinsville as a model for the 'revitalization of Windsor Center' that they are working on!!

We looked from Glastonbury north to Enfield - crossed the river (Connecticut) to Suffield work our way south to Bloomfield and west to Granby to Avon. We had 3 full expense trips to find a place to live. We fell in love with Canton esp Collinsville. Where you could live comfortably without an automobile. We bought a building lot and built a house way up hill from the beautiful Farmington River. That was 1959 and we have never regretted it

I am the third generation of my family to call Canton home. It has always been a very special place.
