On Wednesday, June 6, Canton Public Library will host a presentation on skin cancer by the Farmington Valley Visiting Nurse Association. The program will cover the various types of skin cancer as well as pre-cancer. The talk begins at 11 a.m.

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States, with more new cases diagnosed each year than breast, colon, prostate, and lung cancers combined.  One in five Americans will be diagnosed with skin cancer during their lifetime.  If caught at an early stage, it can be curable.
