Friends of Library Book Sale This Weekend

Annual event helps support numerous programs, initiatives.

More than 20 volunteers spent a good portion of the day Friday getting ready for The Friends of the Canton Public Library's annual book sale.

Set to take place this weekend, Sept. 10 and 11, the sale will include more than 10,000 books, some 700 DVDs and numerous CDs. Most books will be downstairs at the library/community center. A separate room upstairs will be used for children's titles. There will be a bake sale as well.

The event is a major fundraiser for the friends and netted about $10,000 last year. The friends help fund programs, software, computer databases, books, museum passes and more.
