Recently, Canton photographer Corey Lynn Tucker was named the RAW Natural Born Artist Hartford Photographer of 2012.
Tucker will now have a shot at a national competition for the independent arts organization, which hosts competitions in several categories.
It started in July, when Tucker had her first show at the Russian Lady in Hartford for RAW natural born artists.
From there, online votes were accumulated in early October and she made the semi-final and later the finals. On Nov. 15, she competed against five other area photographers and with a panel of judges, and audience participation, came out on top.
Tucker will now compete in the national competition, with entries from photographers in 65 other U.S. cities. The winner will be announced Dec. 3.
