Canton Activities Canceled Due to Snow, Predicted Mixed Precipitation

Several activities in Canton are being canceled due to the snow and predicted sleet and freezing rain.

Senior activities such as the Senior Potluck Luncheon, and Women Of the Fiber Group have been canceled. Dial-A-Ride Services will be provided but there may be adjustments because of the weather and the service may shut down early.

The Canton Plan of Conservation and Development Update Committee meeting set for 7 p.m. has also been canceled.   

The Little Green Tambourine canceled its afternoon Art with Ms. Suzanne class but held its morning Mini Music and Messy Art.

Schools were released early with the following schedule. 

• Kindergarten — 10:45 a.m. 
• Canton Middle/High School — noon
• Canton Intermediate School — 12:20 p.m. 
• Cherry Brook Primary School — 1 p.m. 
• No p.m. Kindergarten 

The National Weather Service is calling for snow before 4 p.m., with snow and sleet between 4 and 5 p.m. That could be followed by freezing rain and sleet, with daytime accumulation of less than 1 inch.
