Canton Public Library Welcomes New Children’s Programmer

Sarah Prattson also works for Windsor, South Windsor libraries.

Recently Canton Public Library welcomed Sarah Prattson, who has been hired as part-time children’s programmer.

She replaces Betsy Ash, who has moved over to the adult reference section of the library. 

Prattson also works for the South Windsor and Windsor Libraries.

Prattson, who grew up in Windsor, worked at libraries during high school and college.

She obtained an undergraduate degree in political science and broadcast journalism and graduate degree in Public Policy. Both are from from American University.

However, along the way, Windsor Public Library offered Prattson a job and she is now looking to stay in the field. She especially loves working with children.

“I love the happy feeling you get in a library,” she said, adding that a children’s librarian heavily influenced her growing up. “This is a great way to have a positive impact.” 

Canton Public Library Director Robert Simon said Prattson comes highly recommended. 

"She came with the absolute highest of references," he said. "I am very happy to have her on board."
