Canton Organizes Fundraiser for Employee Who Lost Wife to Illness

Canton is hosting a fundraiser for Timothy Duntz, who recently suffered the loss of his wife Joanne after a short illness.

Tim has worked for the Public Works department for almost fourteen [14] years in town and can be seen maintaining the Community Center on a daily basis.
The Town of Canton employees are holding a Benefit Pasta Dinner to assist with funeral expenses.

The event will be held at the Canton Community Center on Saturday, May 4 between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Ticket price for adults is only $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and children, and children under 5 years of age are FREE.  The meal will consist of salad, pasta meal, dessert and beverages.

In October 2012, co-workers of Perry Polderman, another town of Canton employee, from R1-198 chapter of the National Association of Government Employees put together a similar benefit dinner after he experienced a horrendous motorcycle accident in September of last year.

Tickets are being sold through the following town offices:

  • Town Clerk
  • Canton Public Library ·
  • Senior & Social Services Office ·
  • Canton Transfer Station/Public Works

If anyone has questions, or wants to get involved they may call Katie Bunn at Canton Public Library (860) 693-5800, or Claire Cote at Canton Senior & Social Services (860) 693-5811.
