Display, fundraiser runs through Dec. 9

Canton Historical Museum kicked off it Gallery of Trees fundraiser with a gala Saturday night.

The event is in its fourth year and this year’s 64 trees are the most yet, said Gallery of Trees committee volunteer Carol Gradowski.

“Every year we get more and more,” she said.

While the event is growing, it’s also great to see so many enter year after year and change their themes or submit creative variations among consistent ones, she added.

The gala took place at the museum, 11 Front St, Collinsville, Saturday night but it's not too late to see the display and have a chance at winning a tree.

Through Dec. 9, members of the public can purchase tickets to have a shot at winning trees. Admission to the Museum, open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. is free during this time.

Proceeds will benefit the museum's building fund. Among the goals is to build a new, accessible entrance.
