Canton Chamber of Commerce Unveils New Mission Statement, Logo and Focus

Approximately 150 attend annual kick-off meeting at The Canton Barn.

The Canton Chamber of Commerce formally introduced a new mission statement, logo and branding at the organization's annual kick-off party Thursday night.

During the event, held at the Canton Barn, Eduardo Barrios, strategic planning committee chair, introduced the new mission statement: "The mission of the Canton Chamber of Commerce is to Advocate for its members and Advance their Success."

He also unveiled a new logo and the organization's five revamped committees — advocacy, membership, marketing, outreach and education.

The changes come after the organization polled its members, held focus group discussions and looked at the practices of other chambers.

"We're here for your business and to help you succeed," Barrios said.

For more on the changes at the chamber, see the organization's attached pdf newsletter.

The evening, attended by approximately 150 people, also included a "Taste of the Canton Chamber," with several local food providers offering food and beverages.

Thank you so much for attending and for your coverage, John. Early on, our newest slate of Officers and Directors began poking around existing policies and procedures, exploring ways to improve member experience. Crucial to our new Strategic Plan were survey and focus group initiatives meant to gauge member sentiment and to attract input tendered by our valued membership. Now that everyone has enjoyed the opportunity to 'speak into' this process as we co-create our direction, we are over-excited for both local non-member businesses as well as for our esteemed customer-community to know that Canton Chamber of Commerce members are moving into 2013 more like-minded, transformed and highly expectant that we will better serve our member needs, our customer preferences and our dear Canton's highest good.
