‘Better Connecticut’ to Showcase Locally Made Hot Sauce

Show to air in the next couple weeks.

Channel 3 reporter Olessa Stepanova and camera man Peter McCue came to the Flatbread Company in Canton Tuesday, April 5 to film a segment on Avon resident Bill Fitzsimmons and his Amigo Hot Sauce.

The footage is slated to be part of an upcoming Better Connecticut feature, which airs at 3 p.m. on weekday afternoons. No specific date has been given yet but it should air within the next two weeks or so.

Amigo is one of the products marketed by Fitzsimmons’ Company, FION, LLC. The sauce is unique due to its yellow color and ingredients, which include mangoes, carrots and habanero peppers.

Fitzsimmons makes the sauce at Husk: New American Tacos in Collinsville.

Flatbread uses the sauce in its restaurant and was an early supporter of the product as detailed in this Patch article.
