Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day Dedicated to 'Canton’s Bravest'

Event set for April 9, 2013.

On April 9, 2013 Ben & Jerry’s of Canton will celebrate Free Cone Day to thank its customers for their patronage and to raise money and awareness in support of the town of Canton Volunteer Fire & EMS Department.

Volunteer fire and EMS members will be scooping ice cream, giving fire truck and ambulance tours and providing information about opportunities in the fire service.

Last year, Ben & Jerry’s of Canton distributed over 4,000 servings of their super premium ice cream during Free Cone Day. In return, customers were encouraged to make a donation to the Town of Canton Volunteer Fire & EMS Department.

In 2012, these donations totaled nearly $2,000. Since 2005, over $13,400 in donations have been raised for the Department through Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Days.

100 percent of all donations are put towards training and equipment for Canton’s volunteer firefighters and EMTs. 

The event will take place Tuesday, April 9 from noon to 8 p.m. at Ben & Jerry’s; The Shoppes at Farmington Valley, Rte. 44, Canton.
