Help for Spring Allergies

If you are suffering from allergies this spring, here is some help for you.

The spring allergy season is upon us and many people are suffering. With a rainy summer followed by a mild winter things have been blooming a full month early. We can expect allergy problems until mid June. The pollen counts will be higher because of this and people who may not have experienced the problem before could be in store for a big one this spring. There are many things you can do to help yourself through this allergy season and others to follow.

Medications can have too many side effects for many people. They can make you sleepy, decrease your sex drive and worsen depression symptoms. If you are in search of something to help you through the allergy season without resorting to medications you are in luck, there are many simple things you can do to improve how you feel.

Raw local honey helps to desensitize the system to the pollens in the air thereby reducing your symptoms. The more local the honey the better it will be for you because the bee’s used the same pollen that is giving you a problem.  It is also tasty and that makes it easy for people to comply!

A netti pot is a must for some allergy sufferers. This is a simple little pot used to wash out the sinus cavities. It helps to start the day off clear and fresh. When done twice a day it will also help with better sleep due to the clear sinuses. If you are extremely congested you may have to do this a few times before your sinuses feel completely clear, but the feeling of being able to breathe after is well worth the effort.

The right supplements are helpful for allergies, especially with the extreme pollen we expect this season. Quercetin, Nettles, Bromelain, and NAC (N-acetyl cystiene) are all helpful for allergy sufferers.  Quercetin and Nettles are helpful in decreasing your body’s release of histamine, the substance responsible for your horrible congestion. Bromelain and NAC are helpful if you have mucus that is thick and you are unable to clear it from your head.
