Canton Food Bank – Who’s and Why, does it matter?

This week an overly abundant of boxes and cans of food have been donated Canton Food Bank, located at the Trinity Episcopal Church.  With over 135 clients are being served every Tuesday, the shelves were close to be empty.  I had the pleasure of meeting three wonderful volunteers who were there to restock the nearly empty shelves – Julie Anderson, Paul Czaplicki, and Brenda Sullivan.  Several volunteers, including but not limited to, Pat Lazauski and Peg Pinton, warmly greet Canton Food Bank clients.

I see a newborn baby and a seventy-two year old lady.  Someone used to reside on Andrew Drive.  Maybe a father is disabled and in great pain?  On another occasion, I witness a man in a Carhartt jacket shiver on a cold winter day, as he waits with his mother who is wearing a moth-smelling sweater using a three-legged cane.   A distraught mother of three loses her job and cannot put food on the meat platter; these people are real, and our neighbors.  The where and why’s; does it really matter?  All types of lifestyles use the Canton Food Bank

However, the need continues on a weekly basis, especially this time of year –throughout the year.  Donations to the Canton Food Bank need to come in at a steady pace each week.  The Canton Food Bank will take any non-perishable item, especially cereals, canned fruit & vegetables, jelly, coffee (not instant), teas, pasta sauce, canned pastas, beef stews, canned tuna, bottled juice, low salt and sugar free items as well.

Please drop off in basket, lower level of the
