The Real Estate Finance Association of Connecticut (REFA-CT)- Hartford Chapter announces the election of its new President, Tyler Brown.

Tyler Brown, MAI, is Vice President and Head of Valuation at Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers in Hartford Connecticut.  Mr. Brown is responsible for setting valuation policy and directing the quarterly valuation process for all equity funds and accounts, with additional oversight and management of all quarterly debt valuations, including both liabilities and investments.  Mr. Brown is the Chair of both the Asset Valuation Committee and the Debt Valuation Committee.

 

Prior to joining Cornerstone in 2003, Mr. Brown was with Cushman & Wakefield of Massachusetts where he provided valuation advisory services on a full range of assets. Including eight years of experience in investment brokerage with regional and national firms, Mr. Brown has 25 years in real estate brokerage, analysis and appraisal.

 

Mr. Brown earned a BS degree in Finance and Marketing and an MS in Real Estate Investment Analysis from the University Wisconsin. He is a designated Member of the Appraisal Institute, the 2012 President of the Connecticut Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, and the 2012-2013 Chair of the Valuation Committee at NCREIF

 

Mark Schuman, REFA Executive Director and also from Canton commented that Mr. Brown brings a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge to the presidency and will do a wonderful job in providing leadership to the Hartford Chapter of REFA. 

 

The Real Estate Finance Association of Connecticut is comprised of over 600 commercial real estate professionals in Connecticut and Westchester County, New York.  Currently these professionals are members of two chapters, Hartford and Fairfield/Westchester Counties.  REFA-CT provides quality programming, educational and networking opportunities for its members and the real estate community. 

In addition to serving as the REFA Executive Director, Mr. Schuman is also president of S&S Management Services, An Association Management Company specializing in the Management of Trade and Professional Associations.
