Pet Funeral Services and Crematory Facility No Longer Planned for Citrus Salon Building

Officials confirm "deal fell through."

A pet funeral service home and crematory is not currently slated to open at the Citrus Salon location, town officials confirmed this week.

In February, the Canton Zoning Commission approved plans submitted by valley residents Robert L. Sagarino and Dave Olson to open Beloved Companions Funeral Services & Crematory, LLC at the 241 Albany Turnpike (Route 44) Citrus Salon building.

However, many sources have told Patch the building owner and the pair could not reach a final agreement and Sagarino and Olson are currently pursuing separate business plans.

The building's owner has not returned calls and Sagarino and Olson both politely declined comment at this time.

Town Planner Neil Pade said he could confirm that his office was told the deal for Citrus was off the table.

"Shortly after the approval, we were told that the deal fell through," Pade said.
