McLadden's Irish Publick House Coming to Former Iron Frog Location

Restaurant group targets February opening.

McLadden Restaurant Group announced Friday that it will be opening a fourth McLadden’s Irish Publick House in Simsbury, its second in the state.  

The group will be bringing its unique brand of casual dining, craft beer experience and pub atmosphere to the Farmington Valley. Renovations and infrastructure improvements have begun at the former Iron Frog Tavern location on Wilcox Street in downtown Simsbury. An expected opening date of February 2014 has been announced.

Michael Ladden, President of McLadden Restaurant Group grew up in Granby and was a long time resident of the Farmington Valley. 

“Simsbury provides us with an exciting opportunity to take our growing organization once again to the next level,” stated Ladden. “We have had the success and good fortune to continue to grow and bring what I believe to be a unique blending of a traditional Irish pub, a craft beer destination spot and a casual comfort food experience with a bit of sports bar and live music hall all rolled into one truly fun place to be.”

“We are a very community focused restaurant group, Simsbury certainly fits our model and we look forward to sharing our success with our guests and the local residents” stated Ben Ossont, Director of Operations for McLadden Restaurant Group.

McLadden’s Irish Publick House in Simsbury will feature a combination of traditional Irish dishes, casual American comfort food and many of the signature dishes and entrees that have become staples for the group in its other three locations. The Perfect Pour Tap System (TM) which the pub builds its proprietary beer delivery system around is currently being custom designed and fabricated and guests can expect a stunning selection of draught and bottle beers as well as single malt Scotch, wine and spirits.

The original restaurant began in West Hartford Center in 2009. In addition to these Connecticut operations, the group has restaurants in Hampden and Northampton Massachusetts.
