Interact Club Benefit Night

The Canton High School Interact Club, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Avon-Canton, is holding a "benefit night" at Flatbread Company, The Shoppes at Farmington Valley, 5 to 9 pm  on Tuesday, May 29. The Interact Club will donate proceeds from the event to Simply Smiles, Inc.

The fundraiser is open to the public and everyone from Avon, Canton and surrounding towns are urged to buy a pizza at Flatbread Company during the four-hour event. Whether eaten in or ordered to go, Flatbread Company will give the Interact Club $1.75 for each small pizza and $3.50 for each large pizza sold that evening. Flatbread Company benefit nights typically yield at between $400 and $1,000 for the sponsoring non-profit organization. Please call Flatbread at 860-693-3314 to order a takeout pizza the evening of May 29 or just stop by and enjoy it at Flatbread Company.

Simply Smiles is a non-profit organization, founded in 2003 and based in Westport. It is dedicated to providing bright futures while improving the daily lives of impoverished children. There are nearly 11,000 Interact clubs in 109 countries with 200,000 student members, ages 12-18. The clubs complete at least two community service projects each year, one of which furthers international understanding and goodwill. Through these efforts, club members develop a network of friendships with local and overseas clubs and learn the importance of developing leadership skills and personal integrity; demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others; understanding the value of individual responsibility and hard work and advancing international understanding and goodwill.
