Google trusted photographer Richard English was in Collinsville this week taking images at three local businesses who have opted to showcase their shops in a new way.
Google Business Photos allows potential customers to see virtual panormic tours right from their computers.
"It's basically an extension of the Google maps program," said English, whose business is studio360.pro. "It's Google Street View for businesses."
Like street view, the program allows internet users to get 360-degree views and virtual tours of a business and its surroundings. English said the technology allows users to get a virtual view both entering the business and of its space as well. There will also be a photo gallery.
On Wednesday, English visited Creative Kitchen and Bath, Carol and Company and Francesca's Wine Bar and Bistro.
Images are added to Google search results, Google + Local and the Google maps.
The images will be up shortly.
