Canton Resident Goes Full Time With Smoothie Business

Canton resident Chuck Simmons has been selling Maui Wowi Hawaiin smoothies and coffee for several years now but only recently has it been a full-time effort.

Simmons worked in the restaurant business for numerous years, including chef at the Golf Club of Avon and Avon Old Farms Inn. The smoothie business started as a side project with some other catering efforts.

"It sort of started as an extension," he said. "I decided to just go at it full time."

Simmons was part of a recent Cherry Brook PTO Children's Fair and brings a setup to events such as after-graduation parties, private functions, business events, fairs, Bat Mizvahs and much more.

"It's very portable," he said.

The smoothies come in flavors such as strawberry, mango orange, black rasberry and more.

Simmons has a few different configurations and can cater to specific events, offering alcoholic drinks, for example, at adult-oriented ones.

He does not have a retail store but has not ruled out the possibility.

Simmons also feels the low fat fruit smoothies offer a healthy option at many events.

"Wherever I go, I'm usually the healthiest thing there," he said.
