Stage Company Announces First-Season Productions

Group hopes 'establish a permanent, professional level, resident theater company' in Collinsville.

Farmington Valley Stage Company has announced a list of productions for its first season in the Canton Town Hall auditorium.  

According to a press release sent to Patch, on Sept. 14, the company will open with Arthur Miller’s The Price, the first of a five-show season. This will be followed by Paul Rudnick’s Regrets Only; Donald Margulies’ Pulitzer Prize Winning Dinner With Friends; Victor Cahn’s Embraceable Me; and Shelagh Stephenson’s The Memory of Water

The release also states that the company "hopes to establish a permanent, professional level, resident theater company at this venue."

Earlier this week selectmen authorized Chief Administration Officer Robert Skinner to sign an agreement with the company. See story here

The company formerly operated as the Park Road Playhouse, town officials said, and produced both contemporary and classic plays. It will offer cost-saving subscriptions, according to the release.
