For many kids, summer is camp time and offers options for those who want to develop or refine their inner creative spirit.
On a recent morning during a two-week session for 8 to 13-year-olds, instructor Kate McAllister led students through various art projects, including a painting on canvas and an experiment to show how drawing simple shapes could result in creating an object — in this case a cat.
Students work on as many as four projects a day and Thursday, campers even painted by the Farmington River and gathered flowers and created Flower Mandalas to place at area businesses.
McAllister offers one-week morning and afternoon sessions for those ages 5 to 7 and two week, all-day camps for ages 8 to 13. See a master schedule in this past announcement. McAllister is also willing to work with those who can only attend partial sessions.
