Nutmeg Symphony Orchestra to honor Canton Resident as Person of the Year 2013

Margaret Colavecchio will be recognized at May 4 concert.

The Nutmeg Symphony Orchestra will honor Margaret Colavecchio Nutmeg Symphony Orchestra Person of the Year at its May 4 concert at the Avon Senior Center.

The Canton resident is being honored for her volunteer work with the orchestra as a former member and vice president of its board of directors.  During her board tenure Margaret served as Chairperson for four Celebrity Maestros Galas, the orchestra's signature fundraising event.

She has been a tireless fundraiser and advocate for the orchestra throughout the community and managed the orchestra's press relations. Margaret has provided additional leadership service to the Canton Creative Arts Council, the Girls Scouts of Connecticut, CantonHistoricalMuseum and Canton Center Congregational Church.

Margaret has been an active singer with a number of local choirs. The concert will include music by Mozart and Beethoven, including Beethoven's Symphony #1. The May 4, 2013 concert will be at 7:30 at the AvonSeniorCenter, 635 West Avon Road, Avon.

Tickets, $20 for adults and $10 for students, are available through the orchestra’s website, www.NutmegSymphony.org, or at the door.
