Farmington Valley Stage Company Ready to Showcase 'Embraceable Me'

Comedy opens at Canton Town Hall Friday.

Edward is smart, shy, and quirky, while Allison is sexy, dramatic and vulnerable.  “Embraceable Me” by Victor L. Cahn, is a comic and passionate “He said, she said” that traces the twenty-year journey of these unlikely friends as they struggle to resolve their feelings for the most important person in their lives.

The cast of two includes T.J. Rush of West Hartford as Edward and Clare Fravel of Newington as Allison. T.J. has appeared in many plays in the Greater Hartford area including “Last Night of Ballyhoo”, “Harvey”, and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf”.

He also has directed students at Conard High School as the Head of the Drama Department.  Clare recently starred in Tennesee Williams “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” and has appeared in “Dancing in Lughansa,” “Last Night of Ballyhoo” and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf.”

The comedy opens Friday, April 19 at 8 p.m. The show continues April 20, 21, 26, 27, 28, May 3 & 4. Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. Sundays at 2 p.m.

There will be an  “afterwords” with the playwright following the April 28 performance. Tickets are $25 for adults; $22 for seniors and students. The theater is located at 4 Market St. in Collinsville, the Entertainment District of Canton. Parking is free in the lot behind the Canton Town Hall.
