Farmington Valley Film Commission to Host Red Carpet Gala

Public Invited to Watch Academy Awards with group, share resume for walk-on roles in film.

If you’ve ever wanted to feel like a celebrity in your own backyard, the Farmington Valley Film Commission invites you to enjoy a live telecast of the Academy Awards show on Sunday, Feb. 24. The event will be held at the Belle Terrace at Avon Old Farms, 1 Nod Road in Avon.

Enter on the red carpet in black-tie optional attire. Enjoy pre-awards festivities and entertainment, a complimentary glass of champagne when you enter, and wine/beer tasting from 7 to 8 pm. (cash bar available).

Enjoy the open bar from 8 to 9 p.m. (cash bar thereafter); savor the flavors at the buffet dinner followed by dessert. Watch a live telecast of the Academy Awards. Prizes will be given for most glamorous female, male, and couple. The evening will begin at 7 p.m. and conclude after the final award is presented. 

The Red Carpet Gala will be hosted by Fox 61 on-air personality Maggie Slysz and members of the state’s newest production studio, Atlantian Films, will be on hand to accept resumes and photos for a shot at a walk on role in an upcoming feature film being shot in Connecticut.
