Tropical Adventures Photography Exhibit

COLLINSVILLE, CT – A temporary exhibition venue located in Collinsville's historic Valley House, 130 Main Street, 1B, will feature an April photography exhibit titled “Tropical Adventures:
Photography and Poetry by Sara Shea”

This exhibit will open Saturday April 9th with an evening wine and
cheese reception from 5pm -10pm. The exhibit will run through Sunday April 24th.


The “Tropical Adventures” exhibit will feature the photography, fine art and poetry of Simsbury, CT native Sara Shea. Sara spent the winter of 2010-2011 traveling through Ecuador, South America and then Key West, Florida as a scholarship recipient to the 2011 Key West Literary Seminar.

The brilliant colors of Sara's travel photography bring to life exotic scenes of flower markets in Cuenca, Ecuador, wildlife and jungle landscapes of the Amazon rainforest, cloud forests of the Andes
Mountains, turquoise oceans and beach scenes from the Florida Keys and the vibrant neon lights and exciting nightlife on Duval Street, Key West.

Each of Sara's colorful travel photographs will be  accompanied by a haiku, an ancient form of Japanese poetry characterized by seventeen syllables.

The “Tropical Adventures” exhibit will serve as a fundraiser for the Red Cross to help victims of the tsunami and earthquake in Japan. 
into the exhibit is free with the donation of one canned good or non-perishable food item.
