Canton Photo of the Day: Pool of Optimism

March 1, 2013

Today's photo is from Tom Cameron, whose “A Wild and Scenic River” exhibit can be seen in the “Upstairs” Gallery at Gallery on the green in Canton through mid March.

Many of the images in the show come from sections of the river that are in the vicinity of Collinsville. Included are serene (almost surreal) waterscapes, bold reflection symmetries, a heron ‘portrait,’ striking dew drenched webs, and many other images that one will see only rarely if ever. Earlier river works have been shown in solo shows, galleries and collections throughout the Farmington Valley. Tom states; “The river, lighting and seasons generate continuous visual delight. This is where I most often dwell — with the sunrise, on the water.”

The Canton Artists' Guild is hosting a total of three exhibitions at the Gallery on the Green through March 17, 2013. The downstairs “Main Gallery” will feature a member’s show with the theme “Dreams.” Gallery members are showcasing interpretations of dreams in various mediums featuring works in sculpture, paint, pastel, photography and other mixed mediums.
