Turning Skyz Performs At Canton Library/Community Center

Young rockers will also open for the Substitutes at Mills Pond Park.

Turning Skyz, a band of local 12- and 13-year-olds, performed at the Canton Community Center Thursday afternoon.

In just their third "gig," the boys played several classic and modern rock standards as well as some original music.

As "payment" each band member received s'mores gift cards donated by Cosi of Avon. The Friends of the Canton Public Library provided free ice cream for attendees.

"For us it's a great way to involve the youth of the community in the summer reading program," said children's librarian Heather Baker.

The Band consists of Finn Begley on vocals, Rowan Cookman on bass, Zac Mulcahy on guitar and Liam Donahue on drums.

On Aug. 1, the band will open for the Substitues as part of the Canton Parks and Recreation Department's Summer Concert Series. The show starts at 6:30 p.m.
